Indaba Nights fans, jazz aficionados and fans of the MSO, get ready for an "Indaba Encore" that will bring the free summer concert series to a swingin' and soulful end for 2024! Byron Stripling, the jazz trumpet virtuoso and Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra's new Stein Family Foundation Principal Pops Conductor, will take to the Indaba Band Shell with fellow jazz great, keyboardist Bobby Floyd on Thursday, Sept. 19 from 6-7 p.m.
"From Spirituals to Swing!" is a free, one-hour concert featuring Stripling's signature charm, soulful singing style and virtuoso trumpet talent, accompanied by Floyd's stirring piano flair.
Concert attendees are encouraged to bring camp chairs (a limited number of folding chairs will be available on the paved area in front of the stage) or blankets for seating on the grassy hill. Food and beverages will be available for purchase; coolers are also allowed. The band shell is located to the rear of the St. Ann Center Bucyrus Campus, 2450 W. North Ave. in Milwaukee, and has paved, accessible walkways from the parking lot to the stage.
