From research to reality: building more inclusive volunteering
About this Event
From research to reality: building more inclusive volunteering
What makes volunteering truly inclusive, and what practical steps can organisations take to ensure everyone has the opportunity to participate?
Join Volunteer Ireland as we share the findings from two Erasmus+ projects that are helping shape the future of volunteer involvement across Europe.
The REAL project has explored the barriers and opportunities to creating more inclusive volunteer programmes, identifying practical approaches that help organisations engage a broader and more diverse range of volunteers.
The TEAM IV (Inclusive Volunteering) project has focused on supporting volunteers with disabilities through inclusive mentoring. As project lead, Volunteer Ireland will share the key learnings from developing a free mentor training programme, practical resources, and a European model that helps organisations build confidence, remove barriers, and create meaningful volunteer experiences.
This interactive session will translate European research into practical actions you can take in your own organisation. Whether you are responsible for recruiting, supporting or managing volunteers, you'll leave with new ideas, evidence-based approaches, and free resources to help make volunteering more inclusive for everyone.
You'll discover:
- The key findings from the REAL and TEAM IV projects.
- Practical approaches to removing barriers to volunteering.
- How mentoring can support volunteers with disabilities.
- Free tools and resources developed through Erasmus+.
- Ideas you can implement immediately within your organisation.
