From Plate to Post: Food Styling & Smartphone Content Workshop

A hands-on food styling and content creation workshop at Chef's Table Studios

Your food tastes amazing. Now let's make it look that way on camera.

Join culinary producer and professional food stylist Amanda Rice for an intimate, hands-on workshop designed to help food creators, chefs, bakers, restaurant professionals and small business owners create better-looking food content using the camera they already have in their pocket.

With only ten seats available, this isn't a lecture or a large seminar. You'll work inside Chef's Table Studios, a professional culinary production studio, learning the same foundational principles used to prepare food for television, branded content, social media and commercial production.

During this three-hour workshop, we'll take food from plate to post. You'll learn how to choose plates, props and backgrounds; create height, texture and dimension; use garnishes intentionally; understand how lighting direction changes food; determine the best camera angle for a dish; frame stronger smartphone photos; and capture the essential shots needed to build engaging short-form food content.

Then you'll put it into practice. Working at professionally prepared styling stations, you'll style your own food scene, photograph it and capture a simple five-shot video sequence you can use to create a Reel, TikTok or Short.

You'll leave with: - Hands-on food styling experience - Your own styled photographs and video clips - A repeatable five-shot formula for short-form food content - A food styling and smartphone photography workbook - Shot-list and content-planning templates - Practical techniques you can recreate at home or in your own business - Individual feedback from Amanda during the workshop

Who should attend?

This workshop is ideal for food bloggers and creators, cottage bakers, chefs and personal chefs, caterers, restaurant owners and social media managers, food-based small businesses, aspiring food stylists and anyone who simply wants to make their food look better on camera. No professional camera is required. Bring a fully charged smartphone with enough available storage for photos and video. If you own a small tripod or phone mount you're welcome to bring it, but it isn't required.
