From Pitch to the Page: The Stories Football Tells with Bash Amuneni

A fun and creative workshop where football meets poetry, storytelling and drawing.
The workshop is aimed at children aged 8-12, accompanied by an adult.
You will explore the sights, sounds, characters, and emotions of football before turning your ideas into poems and stories. Through creative games, reading, writing and drawing, you will discover how everyday experiences can become powerful stories.
The workshop is open to anyone who enjoys being creative, with no previous writing experience needed. It will be led by Bash Amuneni, 2025 Poet-in-Residence at Portsmouth FC.
You will also have the opportunity to explore poems from Back of the Net, a football-themed poetry anthology for children, with copies available to take home. The workshop is free, but advanced booking is required If you’re not able to attend, please cancel your place so that others do not miss out
