From Page to Space: Drawing & Design for Storytelling
Advertisement
This class is rooted in the instructor’s experience as both a visual artist and theater educator, including exhibiting work at the Día de los Muertos Festival and teaching set design here at CCAE. It focuses on drawing as a way to observe, imagine, and tell stories.
Students will start with the basics—line, value, composition, and observation—and gradually move into design concepts. They’ll explore how artists and set designers create mood, character, and space through hands-on exercises and discussion.
The class will wrap up with a final project, where students create either a small drawing series or a simple set/design concept inspired by a personal story or theme.
Schedule & Location:
CCAE – CH Art Studio
Wednesdays (8 weeks)
10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Capacity:
20 students
Pricing:
$225 for the full 8-week workshop
