About this Event

From Local to Global is a series of events organized by Jhpiego in partnership with various local and global organizations dedicated to improving outcomes for pregnant and birthing families.

Our inaugural event, From Local to Global: Increasing Access to Doula Care and Birth Support, convened in partnership with The National Association to Advance Black Birth (NAABB), will take place at the Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg Center, located at 555 Pennsylvania Avenue NW in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday, March 4, 2026. We will also have virtual registration for those who would like to join us remotely. The goal of this event is to bring together local leaders, professional associations, and funders to discuss evidence, share experiences, and explore solutions and visions for increasing access to doula care and birth support in the DMV area and beyond.

We hope you'll join us and participate in this important discussion.

Register today! Admission is free.

For in-person attendance, Hopkins Bloomberg Center has three lactation rooms, as well as three tranquility rooms available to guests throughout the day. All event space is ADA accessible. Guests will be served a complimentary lunch catered by What the Chef, a local Black- and women-owned catering business rooted in culinary expertise, purposeful service, and conscious cooking.
