The evening begins with Mozart’s delightful overture to Così fan tutte, a timeless classic that sets the tone for an exploration of musical brilliance. From there, we highlight the work of Bohemian-born composer Jan Václav Voříšek, featuring his Symphony in D Major—the only symphony he composed, written in 1821 at the remarkable age of 30.
The program concludes with Stravinsky’s rarely performed Pulcinella Suite. Inspired by the early 18th-century commedia dell’arte and music once attributed to Giovanni Battista Pergolesi, this suite offers a fascinating journey into 20th-century modernism.
