From Ink to Thread: A Modern Calligraphy & Wearable Art Workshop
About this Event
This workshop is designed to take you on a journey—starting with the disciplined flow of brush and ink on rice paper, and concluding with the creation of your own apparel.
Whether you are a complete beginner or looking to take your calligraphy off the page, you will learn the technical precision required to handle a brush and the specialized methods needed to make your art permanent on fabric.
Workshop Highlights
Part 1: The Foundation (Traditional Ink)
We begin with the fundamentals of strokes, pressure control, and structural balance on traditional paper to build your muscle memory.
Each participant will have chance to write a final art work on rice paper to bring back home.
Part 2: The Application (Wearable Art)
Shift your medium to clothing. Using professional-grade leather and fabric paints, you will apply your chosen characters or designs onto a plain garment.
Part 3: The Finishing Touch
We will go through the protective coating step to ensure your calligraphy remains vibrant and durable through every wash.
