From Garden to Ph*rm*cy: An Ethnobotanical Walk Through Medicinal Plants

This tour examines the vital bridge between traditional plant wisdom and modern medicine, exploring how botanical knowledge transforms into therapeutic agents and healing food. Walk through living examples including lavender, calendula, and chamomile while discovering how indigenous knowledge systems continue to shape healthcare.
Experience how Cornell Botanical Gardens serves as both Ph*rm*cy and classroom, revealing the enduring connection between plants and human health across cultures and centuries.
This tour will take place in our herb garden which is fully open to the elements (without tree cover). Please come prepared with sunscreen, a hat, extra water, and rain gear, too. Tours are offered rain or shine but may be cancelled in the event of severe or hazardous weather. Pre-registration is required, as space is limited.
Fee: $12 general admission; Free for Cornell Students and Cornell Botanic Gardens Access Pass holders.
