Dance-theater performance and after-talk with the artist about art as a transforming agent in personal processes.
From Freeze To Flow is a dance-theater performance that portrays a woman who is confronted with the ambiguity of her inner and outer reality provoked by gaslighting. She embarks on a neurophysiological-emotional journey where the body is the only one telling her how to navigate through it. It is a defrost process of her nervous and sensory systems, body fluids, muscles and joints leading her to meet uncovered layers of herself. Each layer reveals clues and inner characters that support her to move forward to the next phases to meet with resilience.
Suzana: "Its narrative is based on the concept of body and space interaction, portraying the phases of a personal process of inner and outer reconnection in which I have experienced throughout my personal journey towards resilience. All this information is registered in journals, drawings, paints, video and photos".
The structure of the performance is inspired by the ‘Hero’s Journey’, from the book “The Hero with thousand faces”, by Joseph Campbell (1949) and “The heroine’s Journey’, by Maureen Murdock (1990).
