About this Event
Turning breakthrough science into a successful company is one of the most exciting and often least understood parts of building a life sciences venture. How do founders translate discovery into impact, identify real clinical and commercial need, and navigate the complexities of Canada’s biotech and precision-medicine ecosystem?
Join us for a fireside chat with Dr. Evelyn Pau, Principal at Amplitude Ventures, as she shares candid insights drawn from a decade of investing in, advising, and scaling leading precision-medicine and biotech companies.
Dr. Pau will discuss how scientific innovators can position themselves for successful venture creation, what investors look for in emerging life-science startups, and how founders can build companies that endure. The conversation will highlight key lessons from evaluating early-stage technologies, guiding biotech strategy and valuation, and supporting entrepreneurs through the Health Innovation Hub (H2i) and the Temerty Faculty of Medicine.
This event is designed for student entrepreneurs, early-stage founders, researchers, and aspiring innovators who want to understand how scientific ideas become fundable ventures and what it takes to build life-sciences companies that last.
