Now the Middle East conflict is breaking it a third time — and this time, the energy, food, fertiliser, and freight networks are all disrupted simultaneously, and we in Southeast Asia are on the front line. 

The Philippines have declared a national energy emergency. 

Thailand has banned fuel exports. 

Vietnam’s diesel prices have surged 84%. 

And across the region, governments are rationing fuel, encouraging work-from-home, and scrambling to replace supply that depended on a single maritime chokepoint.
