The program includes the sparkling and energetic Overture to Donna Diana by Emil von Reznicek, a brilliant curtain-raiser full of wit and orchestral color, and the elegant and vital Mozart’s Symphony No. 35 “Haffner,” a masterpiece bursting with charm, brilliance, and unforgettable melodies.
The climax of the evening is Max Bruch’s Double Concerto for Violin, Viola and Orchestra—a powerful and expressive work featuring an exciting musical dialogue between our guest soloists: Ari Streisfeld, Violin and Daniel Sweaney, Viola.
