Did you know that frogs and other cold-blooded animals undergo a process called “cold hardening” to avoid freezing solid? This process converts their blood into an alcohol called glycol, which prevents ice crystals from forming in their bodies!
And soon enough, they’ll be facing the cold but NOT YET! There’s some summer left and lots more to learn about frogs and toads! Sign up now for Frogs with Friends as our Wildlife Gardening workshop series moves towards summer’s end. And sign up for our end-of-season Monarch Butterfly workshop too!
