Fright in Focus: A Step-by-Step Halloween Video Workshop

Join us this spooky season for a 2-part specialized Photography and Video Workshop lead by regional Emmy-award winning videographer Andre Costantini. This immersive experience will guide participants through the art of capturing spine-chilling images and videos that evoke fear, suspense, and mystery: perfect for the Halloween season.

During the workshop, you will learn how to set up your camera to capture both stills and video, useful in many applications, then work within the group to create haunting narrative visuals. The following day will primarily focus on the editing process. Overall this opportunity will culminate in the creation of a short horror film or photographic series, perfect for sharing over the various social media platforms.

Whether you’re a seasoned photographer or a curious beginner, this workshop will equip you with the skills to conjure fun, fearsome imagery for your respective audiences. Dare to join us and discover how to transform haunted PNW lore into works of art.


DAY 1 > Tues, Oct 14 – 6:30-9:00pm:

Meet at the (6605 13th Ave S, Seattle WA 98108) where we will cover the philosophy and execution of “the shot,” with ghoulish models on hand as our subjects.


DAY 2 > Wed, Oct 15 – 5:00-7:00pm:

We will be in Glazer's classroom to cover the editing process and approach to everything from a short horror film or photographic series, perfect for sharing to reels and stories on social media. Glazer's Classroom (811 Republican St, Seattle WA 98109)

  • How to optimize lighting, as well as how to read light and use it to your advantage
  • The key accessories that can help your videography
  • How to compose compelling scenes


TAMRON LOANER LENSES:

We will have the entire line of lenses by Tamron available for Sony, Fuji, and Nikon Z mirrorless cameras, with EF and F mount lenses available and fully compatible with RF and FTZ adapters.


BONUS PRIZE:

We are planning a contest for all the attendees to participate in, after the event, where they will submit a short form video and the winner will get a nice prize from Tamron and some goodies from Glazer's. This will be relayed at the workshop and more particulars will be spelled out!

EXPERIENCE LEVEL

This class is a great start for anyone new to videography, but it’s also valuable for those who have been experimenting on their own, or those returning to the world of videography.

This highly hands-on learning experience will allow for first-person experience and experimentation for attendees.

ABOUT ANDRE COSTANTINI

André Costantini is filmmaker, editor, photographer and musician and has also been known to write and perform. He holds a BFA in photography and painting from Mason Gross School of the Arts. In 1996 André co-formed Goldleaf and Big Daddy a performance duo where he wrote, sang and played the accordion. In 1998 Mr. Costantini photographed the restoration of DaVinci’s “Last Supper” in Milan with Eddie Adams, and was invited to join the Eddie Adam’s Workshop: “Barnstorm” as a staff member and where he currently participates. Mr. Costantini has made several short films and has shot a variety of industrial and commercial work. In the beginning of 2008, he was approached by Doc to Dock an NGO (part of the Clinton Global Initiative) and was commissioned to produce a series of short films in Africa on the organizations work providing much needed medical supplies with a focus on maternal heath care. Later that year André was commissioned by Vincent Laforet to edit “Reverie,” the first film shot with the Canon 5D Mark II. He has created everything from promos and industrials to award winning comedy films. André directed his first documentary feature film shot entirely in Brazil about Bahian artist Bel Borba. He then went on to develop a pilot for a childrens TV show featuring the Rockdoves. In addition, he teaches film and photography seminars at professional schools around the United States.

In the event of a refund, Eventbrite Fees are not refundable. Eventbrite fees are only refunded if an event is canceled.

We will issue a full refund up to 7 days before the event date; or a 50% refund up to the day of the event, if however, if we are able to fill the spot, we may issue a full refund. No-shows will not be refunded.

Refunds are unavailable post-event date.
