July marks World Friendship Day. Yet, nobody really throws a party for friendship. We celebrate weddings, birthdays, promotions, but the people who actually carry us through our weeks rarely get an occasion of their own. So we're creating one: a summer picnic to celebrate friendship. And you’re invited to join.
We don’t just want to celebrate friendship as something you already have, but as something you keep making, at any age. Most people quietly stop making close friends somewhere in their late twenties. This afternoon is a small rebellion against that.
At the same time, we invite you to bring your existing friends as well − and we promise that you will discover something new about them. No matter if you come solo or with friends, you will leave knowing new people.
What to expect
The afternoon follows the sun. We start easy, settling onto blankets and meeting the people beside us. Then we get moving with a few playful group activities to warm things up. And as the sun slowly starts going down, we settle in smaller groups and deeper conversations − “What does friendship mean to you?”, “What makes a good friend?”.
Come with a curious mind, solo or with a friend or two. Everyone's welcome.
What's included
- 2 hours of facilitated and curated activities designed to help you connect beyond small talk
- Light snacks and drinks to welcome you (but please bring your own for sharing)
- A space to meet new people in the least boring way possible
- Access to our 1,500+ Side by Side community
- Supporting our mission to make it easier to build real friendships in Copenhagen
Where is it?
This picnic takes place in Enghaveparken, a few minutes from Enghave Plads. We'll share the exact spot in the park as the event gets closer.
We will provide light blankets, feel free to bring your favourite blanket/mat.
