About this Event
Students will meet up at Westdale Park to learn and practice important social skills such as how to introduce oneself, the importance of making eye contact and smiling, how to be a good friend and have empathy for others, etc. We will help facilitate interaction between shy students through group crafts, games, or story. The goal of this club is to help our students get to know one another and make long-lasting friendships. Students are welcome to bring their own lunch to eat together. After each week's lesson, students will have the opportunity to play on the playground and interact with each other in unstructured play (with adult supervision).
We will meet at Westdale Park in Bakersfield on the last Monday of the month from 11:30 am-12:30 pm (8/28, 9/25, 10/30, 11/27, 1/29, 2/26, 3/18, and 4/29)
Completing this registration is the first step in joining this club. Final registration steps will be emailed to everyone who registers on Eventbrite.
Heartland clubs are designed for families to attend together. Students need to be accompanied by an adult chaperone. Only students registered for the club will be able to attend.
