Following completion of registration details,there will be a short talk on the significance of World Migratory Bird Day on 11 May. The talk will commence at 7.15am at the new Signage Shelter and Walk at 7.30am from the Bird Viewing Platform (BVP) at the entrance to Troy Park (opp 194 Burke Drive, Attadale), led by Ornithologist and Conservation Biologist Dr Claire Greenwell who has a wealth of knowledge of the area. We'll be there early to show the way.
Currently a number of marine and coastal, freshwater and land birds in the area including Caspian Terns, Musk Ducks, Yellow-billed Spoonbills, Pied Stilts, Black-shouldered Kites and up to 7 Eastern Ospreys.
Take the opportunity to relax and take in beautiful views as well as the birdlife...and enjoy the company of fellow walkers.
The walk concludes at 8.45am.
Please wear a hat, walking shoes and bring a pair of birdwatching binoculars, sunscreen (also a raincoat/umbrella) and a bottle of water. We’ll have a few spare pairs of binoculars for those who might need them.
