Take the easy two-block stroll to Historic American Legion Post 168, where pianist, vocalist and interactive entertainer Aaron Luka will host "Songs We Know By Heart," an audience-request sing-along celebrating Jimmy Buffett favorites, Trop Rock classics and the island songs we all love.
With a background in jazz, dueling pianos and live piano karaoke, Aaron has a knack for turning complete strangers into a room full of friends. Buffett fans may appreciate another connection: early in his career, Aaron crossed paths with original Coral Reefer guitarist Roger Bartlett while performing in North Carolina. Years later, those musical paths come full circle during a weekend dedicated to celebrating Jimmy's music and the musicians who helped create it.
The venue is every bit as special as the entertainment. Known for generations as Key West's "Black Town Hall," Historic American Legion Post 168 welcomed legends including James Brown, B.B. King, Otis Redding, Etta James and Key West's own Coffee Butler. Today, thanks to the Legion, the Key West Cultural Center & Veterans Museum and dedicated supporters, live music has returned to this storied stage—making it the perfect setting to keep the celebration going.
