Grab your golf club’s and either a rain jacket, polo or sweater! The Friends of Boulder County K9 Assocation is hosting a golf tournament September 19th at the Ute Creek Golf course in Longmont, Colorado. The organization is a non-profit organization that aids in financial support for the Boulder County Sheriff's Office retired K9's. They help provide monthly food and assist in paying vet bills during the canine's retirement years. The organization also assist in financial support for the active K9's at the Sheriff's Office by purchasing equipment and aiding in the purchase(s) of new K9's.
This year we hope to raise enough funds to purchase each active working dog a ballistic vest to protect them in the situations they are sometimes put in. According to the Officer Down Memorial Page, in 2023, 9 law enforcement K9s were shot and killed and one K9 was stabbed in the line of duty. In 2024, 8 K9s were shot and killed and one K9 was stabbed in the line of duty. In 2025, so far, 4 K9s have been shot and killed in the line of duty.
So.. grab 3 of your friends and some clubs and sign up today to get these dogs protected! We are also looking for sponsors to help support our cause so if you are a business owner and would like to sponsor a hole or donate items that would be great!
If you're not a business owner and don't like to golf, we are also accepting donations to help our cause. Anything helps!
