The artist's statement
My practice begins with the ordinary, the generic, mass-produced objects that we often don't notice in the flow of daily life. These objects, usually dismissed as meaningless, quietly reflect who we are.
Looking more closely, they reveal the stories of our habits, our values, and the systems we live within. By painting these items, I seek to bring them out of invisibility, give them substance, and explore what they reveal about us.
In this way, I want my work to reflect the society in which we live. I am particularly interested in how late capitalism communicates through the endless repetition of objects. These everyday forms create a contemporary mythology that is secular and deeply symbolic. The elements we stop to notice are often the things that define us more than we realize.
I begin my work with a concept that inspires me to create an entire series, bringing that idea to life. Finding the right objects to paint can take years, and it often happens while I am working on other projects.
My goal is not to reproduce reality with precision but to preserve the essence of an object and the urgency of looking at it anew.
