Friendly Fire: An Event of Art, Music & Community with Khary Mason
About this Event
Detroit-born photographer and former Homicide Detective Khary Mason presents Friendly Fire: a powerful, multisensory evening featuring large-format photography from his acclaimed exhibition, a live playback of his original studio album Lilacs and Gunpowder, and a candid panel conversation with Bryce Detroit and Science aka Damon Martin. The work explores the love, lessons, and traumas we pass forward through generations and asks what it means to build a better, safer community when we are brave enough to be vulnerable in front of strangers. Inspired by his Stories of Us sculpture System Failure / Friendly Fire — A Black Cop's Retrospective.
