On Friday March 13th, get ready for a mask-required fusion dance in Downtown Asheville at the YMI Cultural Center's beautiful auditorium!Admission is sliding scale, suggested donation $15-20.

Fusion dance is a social partner dance originating from Blues dance. Never danced before? All good. The Intro to Fusion Dancing lesson will teach you everything you need to know to start dancing! (No partner required!)
- This dance is Mask-Required! What does this mean?
This dance is for folks who need extra protection and support from community to participate in person. If you are able to wear a mask while dancing please do! If you are not able to wear a mask we will have a designated area for unmasked interaction. We will have masks at the door and plenty of hand sanitizer to keep us safe and transmission risks low in the cold and flu season!!
- Why have a mask required social dance?
There are humans in our community who cannot attend in person events because the risk of transmission of viruses are too high in places where personal protection equipment (PPE) is not common. The hope is to give people who don’t normally feel safe or comfortable the opportunity to dance with others in an environment that is inclusive and welcoming.
- Why is there a designated unmasked space?
Social dancing is not usually a space where masks are required. Our hope in having designated areas is that we are fulfilling the need of accessibility to those who require it, and encouraging folks to come who might not be able to mask. We also want to give new dancers the opportunity to dance with people of all different levels of experiences and backgrounds. So whether you are brand new to dancing or are constantly dancing in Asheville, mask up and come dance with us!
