This Friday Night we will get our bellies and bodies dancing!Workshop with Florencia: Belly dance
Everyone is welcome regardless of level and experience!
Traditional Egyptian belly dance is an ancient form of expression, showing the essence of every woman in an individual way. Feminine, strong or sensual, the dancer decides how to play with her body and with the audience.
The workshop will be taught by Florencia (or Flo) Murekian. Flo has been doing belly dance, and belly dance with a veil, for three years and performed in theatres and restaurants, showcasing her skills.
In this workshop, we will learn some basic and staple moves, focusing on losing up our bodies and learning to isolate different parts so they can come alive to the music.
There will be time to explore on your own (and improvise) as well a set choreography.
The practical stuff:
Program:
19:30 - 19:45: Doors open and we say “Hello”
19:45 - 21:00: Belly Dance with Florencia
21:00 - 22.30: Hygge, snacks and dance with your fellow ipolers
Price (workshop): 50 kr. Send the money to mobilepay box 4708RA with the message “Belly Dance” to secure your spot. There are 15 spots and it's all "først til mølle".
For non-members of iPole the price is 90 kr.
If for any reason, you will have to cancel after you have signed up, you can get a refund until 21/1 at 20.00.
If you don't have mobilepay, you can send a message to Anne Kathrine or Caro to sign up, and then pay in cash on the day.
What to wear:
Preferably something black. We need trousers that are able to hang from our hips, such as leggings or loose pants.
It is recommended to have the belly bare (that is, wearing a top or a bra that stops just below the chest), but if you are not comfortable with that, a tight tank top should be fine. Essentially, we need to see what our bodies are doing, and also be comfortable and confident in our own skin.
If you can, please also bring a scarf that is long enough to wrap around your waist (preferably a silky material rather than wool).
Feel free to bring drinks and snacks - either to share or just for yourself
