Friday Night Sound Waves: Elton John Tribute

Back for the final leg of its ninth season, Friday Night Sound Waves: Backstage Pass brings a lineup of high-energy tribute concerts to Las Olas Oceanside Park.
Presented by the Fort Lauderdale Beach Business Improvement District, the free concert series takes place every Friday from Oct. 24 through Dec. 19, 2025, from 7 to 9:30 p.m., and features performances by nationally touring tribute bands celebrating some of the most iconic artists in music history.

Get ready to sparkle under the stars this Halloween as Still Standing: A Tribute to Elton John lights up the Friday Night Sound Waves stage with a spectacular celebration of one of music’s most flamboyant legends. Whether you’re trick-or-treating with the kids, strutting your stuff in the costume contest, or just soaking up the vibes during Fort Lauderdale’s International Boat Show weekend, this is one night you won’t want to miss.

Fronted by Ben Frey—known across the tribute circuit as the closest thing to “Almost Elton”—Still Standing brings Elton’s biggest hits to life with dazzling authenticity and theatrical flair. From soaring ballads like “Your Song” and “Candle in the Wind” to party anthems like “Rocket Man” and “Tiny Dancer,” the band delivers an unforgettable experience that’s part concert, part time machine, and all celebration.

Featuring an all-star lineup of musicians with roots from Boston to Chicago to Florida’s Gulf Coast, this tribute promises powerhouse vocals, rich orchestration, and a whole lot of glitter.
