Join us for a special Friday Night Double Feature on Friday, October 10 at 7:00pm at Old Town Hall, located down the street at 201 Delaware St. Admission is a sliding scale of $5-10, though no one will be turned away for lack of funds. Refreshments will be available for purchase. BYOB, 21+.
First up is HALLOWEEN III: SEASON OF THE WITCH from 1982, directed by and starring Tommy Lee Wallace. An initially panned departure from the franchise, HALLOWEEN III has since been reappraised as a worthwhile entry to the horror genre. Doctor Daniel Challis finds himself thrust into a terrifying nightmare when a toy salesman is mysteriously attacked, and at the hospital, babbles and clutches the year's most popular Halloween costume, an eerie pumpkin mask. HALLOWEEN III is 98 minutes long and rated R.
Then, see EVIL DEAD II from 1987, directed by Sam Raimi. A more freewheeling and slapstick sequel to its dreadful and infamous predecessor, EVIL DEAD II stars Bruce Campbell as Ash Williams, the lone survivor of an earlier onslaught of flesh-possessing spirits, as he holes up in a cabin with a group of strangers while the demons continue their attack. EVIL DEAD II is 84 minutes long and rated R.
There will be a healthy intermission between the films, as well as entertaining preshows and libations available for sale, though the event is also BYOB. Consider grabbing a bite to eat before the film at one of the many local restaurants in the immediate area and make a night of it!
