Arrive anytime between 5:30-8:30 pm to enjoy this free activity!Even though it might seem early, our craft tonight is decorating gift bags and assembling holiday care packages to encourage people to consider helping with our community's Christmas Bureau adoptions. Watch for additional activities soon!
Did you know? Significant numbers of individuals and families in our community apply to be adopted for Christmas each year.
This year, get into the holiday spirit by gathering friends and acquaintances to adopt one or more individuals or families. Make connections and plans NOW so that when adoptions open you are ready to select someone (or a family! or several individuals!) to adopt. And then ready to start shopping for sales on the requested gifts!
OR, join in helping make holiday gifts and treats to add to Christmas Bureau deliveries.
OR, contribute leftover wrapping paper, bows and tags for our December wrapping party.
Christmas Bureau adoptions are about more than just giving $$ -- although if you can only give $$, you can donate directly to United Way of Kaw Valley toward Christmas Bureau!
Adopting an individual or family through the Christmas Bureau is about relationships and connections. You and your family (or friends or work colleagues or acquaintances) can coordinate the wish list updates and gifts and wrapping and delivery with the person or people you adopt. Your relationships with each other will strengthen, and you will form a connection with the person you adopt in our community.
This winter, we will all be finding new ways to help one another, build relationships, and support others in our community. This established annual program is a great place to devote some of your efforts.
For Friday Night Crafts:
Projects are always free.
Everyone is always welcome.
Cafe is open, full food and drink menu.
Bring yourself or invite a friend.
Family night! Friend time! Time for you!
Projects usually take 20-30 minutes.
Our crafting community rules:
Follow your art heart.
Share the supplies.
Learn the name of someone new.
