Music Connects: At the Record Archive
Celebrate with your RPO on Friday, June 3, 4-7 PM
RPO String Qt. plays Pink, Guns N’ Roses, Coldplay, Hendrix + more

Rochester, NY – To celebrate 16 just-announced summer concerts, and 10 brand-new 2022-23 Season concerts along with Season subscriptions going on sale, the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra (RPO) will present a FREE community event called Music Connects: At the Record Archive in one of Rochester's most unique music venues, the Backroom Lounge @ Record Archive (33 1/3 Rockwood St., 14610), on Friday, June 3 from 4-7 PM.

Performing onstage at 5 p.m. will be the RPO String Quartet, playing music by Pink, Guns N’ Roses, Coldplay, The Beach Boys, Jimi Hendrix, and more. The new Rochester PILSharmonic from Three Heads Brewing will be available, along with RPO Summer and 2022-23 Season/Subscription information, discounts, giveaways, and more.

“The famous quote regarding music that says: “Music is the universal language….” might be overused, but for good reason,” says RPO Violinist Perrin Yang, Quartet organizer. “No matter what music we play, no matter who is in the audience, and no matter what venue we are playing, the goal is the same: to communicate and connect in some way with our audiences through our music.”

Although the Summer Season includes 10 free, outdoor concerts*, tickets for the remaining six summer shows – Jurassic Park in Concert (7/2), The Little Mermaid in Concert Live to Film (7/9), RPO @ Bristol Mountain (7/21), RPO @ Temple B’rith Kodesh (7/27), National Geographic’s Symphony For Our World (7/28), and RPO @ Inlet (7/29) – will go on sale Friday, May 27. Record Archive has been a music and entertainment destination in Rochester since 1975. Specializing in vintage vinyl, the 13,000-square-feet record store includes all of the latest music releases on CD and vinyl, as well as unique gifts and toys, vintage clothing and furniture, t-shirts, souvenirs, thousands of movies, audio equipment, and much more. Record Archive was the first record store in the Northeast to have a full-time beer and wine license, which enables visitors to sip and shop, throw a party, or simply enjoy many free, live music events each week.
