About this Event
Join us for Friday Films at the Lesbian Herstory Archives on February 27th at 7:00pm. We will be screening All We’ve Got and Old Lesbians, with a Q&A featuring filmmakers Alexis Clements (All We’ve Got) and Meghan McDonough (Old Lesbians) following the viewing! Pay what you can tickets will be released on Eventbrite a week prior to the screening.
All We’ve Got is a personal exploration of LGBTQ+ women’s communities, cultures, and social justice work through the lens of the physical spaces they create, from bars to bookstores to arts and political hubs. Despite so many narratives of closure, the reality is that many queer women’s spaces not only continue to exist but are thriving.
Old Lesbians: Having once lived in fear of losing her job for who she loved, Arden Eversmeyer recognized the importance of reclaiming the words “old” and “lesbian” with pride rather than shame. In 1998, Arden purchased a small audio recorder and began taping. As the Old Lesbian Oral Herstory Project (OLOHP) expanded by word of mouth, Arden and others began to road-trip across the country to gather more. Through archival footage and audio, animation, and vérité scenes in the present day, Old Lesbians takes viewers inside these women’s lives– from beginnings to “ah-ha” moments to coming out and proudly living their hard-earned herstories.
We hope to see you there!
