The Fresno Bee will host two voter forums featuring candidates for the District 2 and District 3 Fresno County Board of Supervisors seats.
About this Event

Join The Fresno Bee as we host two voter forums on Wednesday, Oct. 2.

The panels will feature the candidates for the District 2 and District 3 seats on the Fresno County Board of Supervisors.

In District 2, which encompasses the northeastern and northwestern parts of Fresno, incumbent Supervisor Steve Brandau is seeking a second four-year term. He is being challenged by Fresno City Councilmember Garry Bredefeld, who has served for eight years representing northeast Fresno but faces term limits. Bredefeld was the top vote-getter in the March 2024 primary from a field of five candidates, paving the way for the November runoff against Brandau. Brandau was initially elected to fill a partial term in 2019 and elected to a full term in 2020.

In District 3, covering central and southern Fresno, incumbent Supervisor Sal Quintero is running for a third four-year term. His challenger is current Fresno City Councilmember Luis Chavez, who like Bredefeld, is ineligible because of term limits to run again to represent southeast Fresno on the City Council. Quintero led a field of four candidates, with Chavez placing second to earn a seat in the runoff election.

These forums will take place Wednesday, Oct. 2, at 700 Van Ness Ness Ave in Fresno. The event is expected to last from 6 to 8 p.m. and will be livestreamed to fresnobee.com.

If you have questions about the event, please reach out to Tim Sheehan at [email protected].
