Mark the second half of the Minnesota Marine Art Museum’s season Freshwater, with a not to be missed night out of creativity, wonder, and unexpected encounters with great art inspired by water. With curatorial-led tours, a staged social discussion with the exhibiting artists, a performance by Douglas R. Ewart and Mankwe Ndosi, and a dancehall to close out the night, this will be an evening you will not want to miss.
The New Look Preview Party celebrates three exhibitions on view, including "Kajahl: Ultra Mare," with mythical portraits inspired by the sea and ancient heritage; Judy Onofrio’s "Deep Dive," with larger than life sculptures inspired by underwater flora and fauna; and "Across a Wide Ocean: Remarkable Stories about the Origins of Identity," with a focus on "The Most Beautiful Thing" by Kao Kalia Yang, illustrated by Khoa Le, one of two books featured in the current Book Arts exhibition.
This program is part of the FRESH Water New Look Weekend: July 12-14, 2024, a weekend that celebrates the artists, exhibitions and stories behind the artworks.
