3D Percussion & pax duo

Program:

3D Percussion presents Refract, a multimedia performance showcasing the unique colors that percussion repertoire has to offer. Using light as a symbolic device of timbre, 3DP takes you through our repertoire of sounds with works by Peacocke, Keck, Wallin, Curlee and Lee. Refract features atmospheric, natural music to theatrical timbres, to interlocking rhythms, to percussion from around the world. With Refract, 3DP pays homage to the recent classics and forges a new path to create standards in our own time.

3D Percussion (YoungKyoung Lee, Emma Gierszal, and Sammy DeAngelis) aims to explore every aspect of percussion performance in a single concert experience. With repertoire ranging from Korean drumming to theater percussion to the cutting edge of contemporary percussion chamber music, there are just as likely to be balloons on stage as marimbas. We challenge the audience to leave without hearing both something familiar and something new!

pax duo is a percussion project based in Goshen, Indiana and Madison, Wisconsin. Their repertoire moves percussion music beyond the concert hall, incorporating lighting and electronics, and blending genres like indie, hip-hop, and funk into a contemporary classical context.
