About this Event
Join Roar Enterprises for a powerful afternoon of history, reflection, and community conversation centered on the legacy and continued significance of Juneteenth.
The program will feature a special prerecorded conversation with Ms. Opal Lee, the “Grandmother of Juneteenth” and recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom, whose lifelong advocacy and freedom walks helped lead to Juneteenth becoming a federal holiday in 2021.
Her work has inspired us to remember, honor, and cotinue the journey toward freedom and justice. .
Historian, educator, filmmaker, and author Dr. Charles “Chuck” Taylor, author of Juneteenth: The Promise of Freedom, will explore the past, present, and future of freedom movements and community progress.
