Freedmen Research Week
Each day, descendants will meet at the Oklahoma Historical Society to research Dawes Rolls, Freedmen enrollment cards, and historical records that tell the stories of our families across Indian Territory. We will also have a museum tour after each session for those who wish to attend on different days.
After we finish our research business, we’ll gather for evening fellowship at local eateries. This will be our chance to make informal connections and meet more cousins!
We’ll also take time to visit historic Freedmen cemeteries and communities, paying tribute to our ancestors.
More information and registration details coming soon!
Mark your calendars and plan to join us in Oklahoma City for a week of remembrance, research, and community.
