FREE Summer Arts Program for Youth
Join the 18th & Vine Arts Festival Foundation, in partnership with ArtsTech, for a fun, hands-on summer art experience designed to inspire creativity, build confidence, and introduce young artists to new skills and career possibilities.
The Youth Artists Initiative (YAI) connects youth with professional Kansas City artists through engaging monthly workshops that blend creativity, culture, and entrepreneurship in a welcoming community environment.
Whether your child is an experienced artist or trying something new for the first time, YAI provides an encouraging space to create, learn, and grow.

Clay Pot Creation & Plant Design
Functional Art & Creative Entrepreneurship
This month's workshop introduces students to the world of ceramics, design, and creative entrepreneurship through the creation of their own handmade clay plant pots.
Students will learn:
? Hand-building clay techniques
? Pot shaping and sculpting
✨ Surface textures and decorative design
? Painting and finishing pottery
? Plant care and creative presentation
? How handmade artwork can become a sellable product
Every Student Will Create
? Handmade clay plant pots
? Personalized painted pottery pieces
? Festival-ready artwork to display or take home
? A creative entrepreneurship project presentation showcasing their work and ideas
