Free Your Voice: A Feldenkrais Workshop for Authentic Expression

Your voice is unlike anyone else's. It is the result of your whole body efficiently turning air into sound - shaped by your posture, your breathing, your tension patterns, and the movement habits you've built over a lifetime. Yet many of us, whether we sing, speak publicly, or simply want to feel more at ease in how we express ourselves, have learned to push, control, or manipulate our voice rather than trust it.
In this 2.5-hour Feldenkrais workshop, we'll explore how releasing tension and improving the organisation of your body can create the conditions for your voice to emerge more freely, fully, and authentically.
In this workshop, you will:
Discover your authentic voice - not a version modelled on someone else, but the voice that naturally arises when your body works efficiently and without unnecessary effort
Explore the surprising connection between your throat and your torso - and how the way you organise your body directly shapes the ease, flexibility, and control of your voice
Experience how gentle, mindful movements can bring you into a state of relaxed readiness that supports richer, freer vocal expression
As you explore yourself in movement during this Feldenkrais practice, you'll calm down your nervous system, release deeply held tension, and begin to sense new possibilities for how your voice can feel and sound - starting right where you are.
This workshop is open to singers, performers, and anyone simply curious about exploring their voice and discovering new ease in how they express themselves. No prior Feldenkrais experience is needed, and no particular level of vocal training is required - only a curiosity to explore.
The only prerequisite is for you to be able to lower yourself down to the floor and stand back up, either independently or with the support of something to lean on.
Just bring a willingness to explore and listen to your body. 🌿
