- Group singing of mantra music and traditional Indian bhajans where we’ll get to share our unique voice and release any fear we have around singing.
- Personal reflections and prasad. We’ll reflect and enjoy soulful food together 🧡

About Sanjana
Sanjana has been an active member of Pilgrimage of the Heart since 2021. After attending a women’s song circle for 6 months to overcome her fear of singing in public, she began hosting her own song circles in 2022 to inspire other women to find their voices.
Since then, Sanjana has been invited to sing at various meditation and concert events at Pilgrimage. She has experience hosting meditation-sound healing events, cacao ceremonies, and women's song circles.
Sanjana is a student of Sri Chinmoy, an Indian spiritual teacher who encouraged his students to live dynamic and creative lives. Sanjana is passionate about blending spirituality and community through her offerings. Currently, Sanjana runs a successful dog training business in San Diego called Peace Pups Dog Training, where she helps humans live more peaceful lives with their pups.
What is the inspiration behind the event?
Sri Chinmoy, a spiritual teacher from India who devoted his life from 1931 - 2007 to creating peace and harmony in the world, is the inspiration of this event. Sri Chinmoy believed that music is the next best thing to meditation, as it allows us to experience oneness and peace within our hearts. He encouraged all his students to sing daily and soulfully.
Sri Chinmoy encouraged each of his students to live dynamic, creative, and aspirational lives. Sanjana is a student of Sri Chinmoy, who inspired the creation of Pilgrimage of the Heart in 1999. Sujantra, the founder of the yoga studio, studied with Sri Chinmoy for 37 years.
Over his lifetime, Sri Chinmoy hosted more than 10,000 free meditation-musical concerts for over 4 million people from 1965 to 2007. He composed over 23,000 songs in English, Bengali, and traditional Sanskrit. All of his offerings were free to the public. In our song circle, we will sing some of Sanjana's mantra songs, along with Sri Chinmoy’s mantra songs and traditional Indian bhajans.
Why is this event free?
Sri Chinmoy’s legacy includes hosting over 10,000 free meditation-musical concerts, highlighting the importance of making meditation accessible to everyone. He inspired his students to share meditation and music with their communities at no charge.
Sri Chinmoy’s teachings are founded on cultivating inner peace through music, meditation, sports, and community. Sanjana is deeply inspired by Sri Chinmoy’s dynamic approach to life and is excited to bring women together to sing and find community!
