FREE WILL: Hair Sculpture Workshop with Asia Clarke (Wild Moon)
About this Event
As part of FREE WILL: Manifestors of Realities at Seed Archives, artist Asia Clarke (Wild Moon) leads a hair sculpture workshop open to the public.
Drawing on the techniques behind the exhibition's osese wood masks and hair sculptures, this workshop offers participants a hands-on introduction to hair as a material of storytelling, memory, and resistance.
Spaces are limited (12 spots only!) and registration is required.
About the Artist
Asia Clarke (@Wild_Moon) is a multidisciplinary artist and strategic foresight practitioner based in Accra, Ghana, with over 15 years of experience spanning hair, makeup, jewelry, costume design, and speculative design.
Her work has appeared across film, fashion, and music, with clients including BBC/HBO/A24, Paramount Pictures, Burberry, Vogue Netherlands, Vogue Italy, Kendrick Lamar/pgLang, and Dazed Magazine. She also founded Wild Moon Jewelry, with pieces worn by Michaela Coel and Erykah Badu.
FREE WILL: Manifestors of Realities brings together her practices in hair sculpture and speculative design — hand-carving osese wood masks that honour five figures of Afro-Caribbean resistance, and asking what it means to manifest a freer future, generations in the making.
