About this Event
Welcome to the Free Wellness Programme for Domestic Helpers! Join us at Mindful Space Pte Ltd for an afternoon of relaxation and self-care. This event is designed to help you unwind and rejuvenate, with activities such as yoga, meditation, and mindfulness exercises. Take this opportunity to prioritize your well-being and connect with other domestic helpers in a supportive environment. Don't miss out on this chance to recharge and feel refreshed!
The Schedule
4:30-6:00 PM: YINYANG YOGA
YinYang Yoga is a special 90 minute class this month that combines Yin yoga, Hatha yoga, and breathwork.
Yin Yoga is a meditative practice of holding passive stretches for 2 to 4 minutes in seated or lying down yoga poses. It promotes relaxation and improves joint health and flexibility.
Hatha yoga is a grounding, slower-paced practice where each pose is held for a few breaths, focusing on connecting the body and mind to develop inner stability.
Together you can expect a class that both invigorates and relaxes you.
This special 90 minute class provides an opportunity to prioritize self-care, deepen your body awareness, and improve both your mental and physical health. It is available to all women, whether returning to yoga or trying it for the first time.
6:00 - 7:30 PM: IMAGINE YOUR FUTURE WORKSHOP
A vision board is a helpful tool to identify and imagine a future intention. It consists of collecting images and materials that you feel represent your intention then collaging them onto a large piece of paper. You will take your vision board home with you and can place it somewhere visible, to continue to remind you and motivate you towards your intentions.
For this session, the intention is…
Imagine Your Future: What qualities would you like to experience in the new year?
Some examples could be:
- Self-love
- Patience
- Adventure
- Connection
- Community
- Nature
- Health
Please bring your own materials to use for your vision board, such as:
- Old magazines or newspapers you feel comfortable cutting up
- Nature materials like leaves and flowers
- Sentimental paper materials you want to include (like a card or note from a loved one)
- Small pieces of fabric or cloth (perhaps to represent qualities like softness or comfort)
- Stickers
- Stamps
Large pieces of paper, colouring materials, scissors and glue will be provided.
To Prepare:
For the yoga class, a yoga mat will be provided. Please wear comfortable clothes and bring a water bottle.
For the 'Imagine Your Future' workshop, please refer to the description above.

About the Programme
This well-being programme for Domestic Helpers was started by Julia Vasko and Dr. Amy Hawthorne at SamataSoul in September 2020 and has been an on-going monthly programme since.
As SamataSoul closed its physical doors in December 2023, Julia is now curating and managing the programme independently to continue to support the community built by SamataSoul over the last few years. The programme will now be hosted at spaces throughout Singapore on a donation basis.
Julia Vasko is a trauma-informed somatic touch practitioner, embodiment facilitator, art curator and creative guide. Her work intersects in the creation of safe spaces for expression and connection: where stories are told, where emotions are felt, and where transformation and healing happen. She was previously a manager and art curator at SamataSoul.
