Learn how to patch a hole using “boro style” mending with scrap fabrics, needle, and thread. Boro mending is a traditional Japanese method of layering fabrics to reinforce worn spots while preserving the integrity of the original garment. The word “boro” means “worn out” or “tattered,” and the practice originated from a need to extend the life of clothing due to scarcity and poverty. It has since gained global popularity as a visible mending and decorative art form. We’ll also learn a great method for replacing buttons. If you have a piece of clothing that needs mending, bring it along and we can discuss some tips on how to fix it. All materials are provided.
ASAP Classes are free and open to the military community including service members, veterans, military spouses, family members, caregivers, and survivors. Seats are limited, fill out an application to secure your spot: https://www.tfaforms.com/5027807?campid=701Up00000UoCBDIA3
