About this Event
The Short North Arts District is a nationally-recognized hub of creativity known for being vibrant, inclusive, and welcoming. Safety in the Short North is a state where everyone is free of harm, thrives, has their well-being protected and their diversity celebrated.
With the goal of nurtuing the Short North as a place where everyone thrives, the Short North Alliance is partnering with the YWCA Columbus to provide two opportunities to attend a free training designed to build participants' understanding of identity, lived experience, and building intentional communities of belonging in the workplace.
Who Can Attend?
These trainings are offered to employees, business owners, and community residents in the greater Short North community, including the Short North Arts District, the 5th Ave and 4th St Special Improvement District, and the Friends of the Short North program. To compensate employees in the districts for their time, every employee participant will receive a Visa Gift Card after each session, with the potential of earning up to $75 in gift cards.
Training Topic
Fostering Belonging in Business: In this session, you’ll learn about how different parts of a person’s identity, like their race, gender, and economic status, may come together to shape their experiences. Through talks and activities, you’ll discover how to make your workplace more welcoming by thinking about these differences in how you can act and adapt. (Each District Employee will get a $50 Visa Gift Card.)
