‼ This training is offered exclusively to veterans, service members and their family.
? Carpentry is a 40-hour introductory training covering the basics of carpentry and trades math. Participants learn accurate reading and the use of a tape measure, the 3-4-5 layout method, and the safe use of hand and power tools. Using skills learned in class, participants build a footstool and a set of stairs to a platform.
Construction site education, safety, and carpenter expectations are also covered.
This training opportunity is designed to provide participants with an experiential understanding of a career in the construction trades and to enhance participants' abilities to gain employment or enter an apprenticeship within the industrial trades.
