The Guelph Tool Library is hosting the Free to Read Book Sale on Saturday April 25, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. All books will be $2 each, with cash, debit, and credit accepted. This community event marks the fourth year of the sale which continues to raise funds in support of literacy programs in local correctional facilities.
Book collection launches Monday, February 9, 2026. Donors are asked to contribute gently used books that are clean, undamaged, not written in, and have no missing pages.
Books can be dropped off in the following locations:
Guelph Tool Library
Guelph Grotto Climbing Gym
Wellington Brewery
Evergreen Seniors Community Centre
Three Willows United Church
All Saints Lutheran Anglican Church
OPIRG Office at U of G
ReStore @ Habitat for Humanity
Mike Schreiner's Constituency Office
The Books for Inmates Program serves nearly 4,000 people incarcerated in provincial correctional facilities in Southern Ontario on any given day.
