Free the Flow, Release the Block - A Story Stick Workshop
About this Event
About the Workshop
Something in your life wants to move. It could be your energy, your creativity, a relationship, your finances or your sense of direction. This workshop gives it room to flow.
This 2½-hour workshop is a simple, hands-on experience where you look inward and express what arises in colour and texture. With a few materials, natural sticks, colourful yarn and your own intention, you'll wrap two Story Sticks:
- One for the flow you want to invite in: courage, abundance, love, boundaries, ease, or whatever is calling to you.
- One for the block or resitance you're ready to release: a pattern, habit or belief that's holding you back.
We begin with the flow you want to invite in. From there, the process unfolds in its own way for each person, so you don’t need to know your block before you arrive.
What are Story Sticks? Story Sticks are a simple, hands-on way to express what's inside you without needing words. You choose colours and textures of yarn and wrap them around a natural stick, one thread at a time, and each colour holds the meaning you give it. This is a unique process Pamela has shaped through her community arts work. It's relaxing, meditative and open to everyone. It's about creating space for what's ready to shift.
What to expect
- A guided, intuitive process.
- An opportunity to bring your intention into your hands through the wrapping of yarns, colour and texture
- An invitation to share your stick's story with the group, if you feel comfortable.
- Guidance to take home on how to work with your flow stick and bring it into your daily life.
- A discussion of how you could release your block stick.
- A small group, connecting in a warm, supportive, creative space.
You'll leave with two sticks in your hands: one holding the flow you're inviting in, and one holding what you're ready to let go.
What participants say
"Sometimes it's hard to listen to my intuition, but this process helps open the gateway between head and heart." – S.B.
"I didn't know what to expect and I was really nervous joining a group with people I don't know. [Pamela] created such a beautiful and comfortable space... This workshop exceeded my expectations and has given me two objects that I continue to reflect on. This workshop was pure magic." – Heather
"The block stick became a living record of what has been holding me back. It wove itself in my hands, and I had to smile at how the unconscious speaks when given the right tools. The flow stick now serves as inspiration for me to move forward. It's a physical reminder that a new way forward is possible, and it's here!" – Workshop participant
