The concert opens with the Swingtones playing a charming set of favorite jazz-tunes. After a short break the Nebraska Wind Symphony will take the stage with Henry Fillmore's rousing Americans We. The program then moves through a diverse selection including Malcolm Arnold's elegant Prelude, Siciliano and Rondo, Ralph Vaughan Williams' serene Rhosymedre, and crowd-pleasing Selections from 1776. The evening continues with Frank Ticheli's celebrated arrangement of the traditional Shenandoah, Nathan Farrell's energetic All Aboard!, and Battle Hymn of the Republic. The program closes with Samuel A. Ward's beloved America the Beautiful and the incomparable The Stars and Stripes Forever by John Philip Sousa.
