Join us at the Friends of Upper Norwood Rec Summer Party for a high-energy 30-minute strength & conditioning circuit class led by Rachael from Nebu Fitness — totally free and open to all fitness levels! Expect a fun, functional mix of bodyweight and equipment-based exercises to boost strength, mobility, and endurance.

About Nebu Fitness
Rachael works with a really wide range of clients – from multi-marathon runners and seasoned lifters to 93-year-olds, people living with physical disabilities, and those facing serious health challenges. No matter your age, background, or fitness level, she believes strength training has something to offer you.
Coaching is strength-focused, with an emphasis on lifting heavy regularly while taking your individual biomechanics into account. Every programme is tailored to your body and your goals, so you can get stronger, move with more confidence, and feel the benefits in everyday life.
Based in the Crystal Palace area, Rachael also train clients from Upper Norwood, South Norwood, Norwood Junction, and Thornton Heath. Whether you want to boost performance, regain independence, or simply enjoy feeling stronger, she'd love to help you get there.

About Friends of Upper Norwood Recreation Ground
This free event is part of our Summer Party celebrations on Sun 28 June 12-4pm!
With street dance from Perfect Circle Academy, songs from Palace Acappella, live opera from local pros Eve and Jane, tug of war, face painting by local legend Jacqueline and lots more besides, it’s not to be missed!
There will be ice cream and cakes and the Chevening Hub will be open, but we recommend bringing water, a rug and a picnic, as well as your favourite outdoor games. We can’t wait to see you there and do tell your local friends!

Friends of the Rec was set up as a community group in October 2022 by a group of local volunteers who felt it was important to protect and nurture this beautiful parkland and leisure space which is loved by so many but had become neglected in recent years.
Since then the group has achieved many great things including planting over 300 young trees, 700 bulbs, and various shrubs at our monthly community volunteer days and in our team sessions. Not to mention keeping the park free of litter! The group also ran a community pond digging day in November and have put up bird and bat boxes decorated by locals which you can spot all around the Rec. We would love to continue making improvements to this wonderful space.
