Back from Friday 12 September 2025, bring your 0 to 5-year-old to our free weekly story and rhyme time in the wonderful children’s area at Penhill Library (Penhill Drive, SN2 5DU). On every Friday in term time, 10–10.30am. No need to book – come when you can. 🤗 📚
Our Literacy Champion volunteers read a picture book or two out loud and lead families through popular nursery rhymes and songs with all the fun actions. 🎶 🙋‍♀️
Not only is the group a lovely way to meet other local families, but simple storytelling activities like these help little ones learn new words and communication skills, whilst also supporting their social and emotional development. 💫 🧠
There are lots of great books waiting to be borrowed at Penhill Library, and Steph, the brilliant Librarian, can help you find one your child will love. There’s also often crafts to get stuck in to after our group. 🎨
