Join us for Sidewalk Sessions on 7th Street brought to you by 7th West and 7th Street Thrives (A local coalition led by East Bay Permanent Real Estate Cooperative, Esther's Orbit Room, Bay Area LISC, and Alliance for Community Development). This live performance series is all about celebrating the heart and soul of West Oakland through artistic performance, music, and a strong sense of community. We’re part of the Activate Oakland Event series, and we're all about showcasing the incredible local talent in a laid-back, fun atmosphere.

What’s on the Agenda?

• Live Music and Performances: Kick back and enjoy live tunes and performances from a mix of local artists, musicians, comedians, choreographers and poets. Each session promises something different, so you’re in for a treat!
• Community Vibes: Catch up on the latest happenings with community announcements from the 7th Street Thrives team. It’s all about bringing people together and building something positive.
• Food and Shopping: Wander through our vendor stalls, grab a bite from the 7th West kitchen, or sip on something refreshing from the bar. It’s the perfect setup for a relaxed night out.

7th Street Thrives:

7th Street Thrives is a community collective working to rejuvenate 7th Street as a black business, arts, and cultural district, and honor its rich legacy. This will be accomplished by supporting the sustained activation of underutilized commercial space, providing business technical assistance to Black and People of Color businesses, and reviving the community character of the 7th Street corridor through local event activations and community outings. Performance Line Up for Friday, July 26, 2024

• Azuah: Their music weaves roots in alternative folk and soul with a poet's sensibility and an unforgettable voice to create an infectious sound all their own. A Bay Area native, they have played all over the West Coast from the Roxy in Los Angeles to stages in Oakland and San Francisco. Known for their evocative lyrics and haunting melodies, Azuah captures the listener’s ear from first note to last strum.
  

• Jamet Griot: (formerly known as Infamous TAZ) is a HipHop/Soul artist & poet from the Bay Area. Coming out of East Oakland, Jamel is an individual who has endured enough street life & self awareness to be the bridge in between them both through his music.
  

• 3 Elements: Formed in Oakland in 2021 by Dre Mateo on drums, Anthony Mills Branch on Bass, and Justin Rock on Guitar. Three creatives passionate and learning to unlearn music and the world as we know it -- come hear some brilliant modern jazz and R&B from this trio!
