When Colin Aberdeen plays, plenty of things can happen.Sometimes the longtime Syracuse musician with Los Blancos will announce himself with a different name. Russell D. Sheets is a favorite.
At the heart of the matter, though, Aberdeen's dead serious about sharing his talents and love for roots music.
"I play a variety of original songs and covers, drawing on country blues, soul music, R&B, old school country and many other forms of roots music, all played by one guy with an acoustic guitar," Aberdeen says.
"No gadgets, no tricks, just songs as I hear them and can best present them. I always feel a gig has gone well, when I get the feeling of sitting around with friends and kind of telling them about tunes I like, by just playing them," he says. "I love paying solo, it's what I started out doing and feels very natural to me."
