A free hands-on workshop where we’ll tie-dye and explore the science of textiles and laundry!
About this Event

Description: We'll tie-dye cotton bandanas using dyes made from oak tree leaves and acorns and iron. We'll explore the basic science of our clothes, and learn about how we can treat our clothes, and the environment, with love and care!

Presenters: Catherine Prunella, New York Sea Grant; Dr. Julian Silverman, Fashion Institute of Technology; and Rachel Greene, Fashion Institute of Technology

Audience: Ages 12+. Younger children must be accompanied by an adult.

Location: On the lawn in front of the Queens Public Library at Hunters Point
